For this reason, we at Johannas do not only focus on the food but first and foremost on the overall experience. It is our ambition to create memories: Situated close to the vibrant centre of Munich and yet distant to the city's hectic rush, we'll pause time - to help you escape your daily routine and introduce you to the origins of sophisticated gastronomy.
Our cuisine is designed to astonish and inspire. Not only in terms of flavour - but also regarding the classical techniques. We attach great importance to the traditional guest care and, for instance, serve meat and fish dishes as a whole - only to carve or fillet it before the guest's eyes, precisely following the time-honored method.

We understand food as a concept of deceleration. As we take the time that is needed to serve exceptional dishes, you will get as much time as you require for your perfect evening. Therefore we abstain from double occupancy and will be at your service for as long as you wish.
Our Oasis
The Restaurant Johannas is located on the ground floor of the family-run Hotel Neumayr and has numerous lively as well as exclusive rooms and niches. As, for instance, the elegant Separée is the ideal venue for more intimate festivities such as birthdays or weddings - the cozy Kaminzimmer, which features a fireplace, is just the right setting for an evening with friends and family in a homely atmosphere.
And, should you wish to experience your dinner completely in tune with nature, the wild garden lures with its magical and romantic atmosphere.

Dedicated to nature
To respect both the product and nature, it is particularly essential to treat animals responsibly. Johannas Restaurant is the perfect choice for anyone who loves excellent meat. Pheasant, wild duck, grouse or partridge to venison, stag, chamois, wild hare, bison or mouflon are prepared with passion and special care for the product. All game dishes are exclusively from our hunt.
With this wide selection of game specialities, it is particularly important to uphold our high standards and pass them on to our guests: This means that you can be certain that we use every part of an animal.
The use of whole animals also allows us to serve a great variety of exquisite game dishes such as venison kidneys, lights of wild rabbit cooked with vinegar and spices, or giblets of a deer. Let us add you to our game-lover's file and we will inform you when specialities arrive.
